Meet Goldie!
Goldie, the official canine ambassador of The University of Tulsa, represents everything that students and alumni love about UTulsa: Loyalty, growth, friendship and the ability to learn in a supportive, caring community.
A golden tail
In 2013, The University of Tulsa debuted the Canine Ambassador program with the introduction of Goldie, a golden retriever puppy. As the first Goldie became a full-grown dog, so did the love and admiration for UTulsa’s Canine Ambassador program. She soon became the most famous dog in Tulsa. Goldie II was introduced to the Golden Hurricane community in October 2021. She kept a busy schedule, attending events across campus and greeting visitors in Collins Hall. After four years of dedicated service, Goldie II graduated with the Class of 2025.
After much anticipation, Goldie III was introduced to campus on Feb. 3, 2026. Students will enjoy seeing the puppy on campus during the spring semester at select events. This summer, Goldie will work with a professional trainer to learn how to be the best canine ambassador that UTulsa has ever seen.
Why Goldie?
Much more than four paws and a pretty face, Goldie offers comfort to students who may miss their own pets or feel stressed during finals. Students say that meeting Goldie brightens their day and enhances the university experience. UTulsa feels like home, and the Canine Ambassador program supports that goal.
