TU Uncorked, the annual fundraiser for the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, benefits Tulsa-area students

TU Uncorked was held on Friday, June 22 at Cain’s Ballroom. This flagship event for the Tulsa Chapter raised nearly $80,000 for scholarships that support Tulsa-area students with a financial need.

This year’s event once again shared video testimonials from students who have received this scholarship. Featured recipients include Sydney Alison, Class of 2020, and Lindsay Deline, Class of 2019. Their moving stories may be viewed online, and donations to the scholarship fund are welcome year-round at utulsa.edu/give.

TU Uncorked featured generous presenting sponsors David and Leslie Lawson. This year’s Honorary Chairs were Pam & Frank Haith, TU Men’s Basketball Head Coach, alongside Ashli & Philip Montgomery, TU Football Head Coach. The event was chaired by Jennifer (’01) and John (’01) Laeger, and Cochairs were Katie (’01, ’02) and Seth (’03) Ahrens.

Attendees were invited to sample food and drinks from local restaurants and wineries that generously donated their offerings. Sweets & Cream, McGill’s and Brookside’s newest eatery Oren joined the restaurant lineup this year. Oren was also the inaugural VIP section restaurant and beverage sponsor.

TU Uncorked annually includes a wine pull and silent and live auctions, featuring items such as once-in-a-lifetime TU football and basketball trips, custom paintings by John Hammer and Chris Mantle, as well as a private concert experience in the TU suite at the BOK Center. Rustic Cuff, a local boutique owned and operated by Jill Donovan (JD ’03) provided bracelets for a unique jewelry pull, featuring TU-themed cuffs.

Tailgates on the Road: Houston, Arkansas and Washington D.C.

The TU Alumni Association and Golden Hurricane Club have partnered for exciting road games in 2018 and invite all TU fans to join the official pregame fan parties.

Saturday, October 20: Tulsa at Arkansas

The Golden Hurricane will play the Razorbacks at a time TBA in Fayetteville. A bus package is available, in addition to the pregame party. Official registration is online and times will be announced at a later date. To purchase game tickets in the TU section, call 918-631-GoTU (4688).

Saturday, November 17: Tulsa at Navy

Join the Washington, D.C. Alumni Chapter and fellow fans in Annapolis for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff. More information will be available soon online. Game tickets are available in the TU section and should be purchased by calling 918-631-GoTU (4688).

Alumni Tent Parties at the TU Beer Garden with BlockParty

The party on Chapman is back! The TU Alumni Association is excited to host pregame parties before every home football game during the 2018 regular season. A new partnership with Blockparty, an event producer specifically aimed at elevating the tailgate experience, has created a new and dynamic atmosphere on Chapman Commons! All alumni and TU fans are welcome to these FREE events! Hot dogs and beer will be provided while they last and a full cash bar is available.
