Business Faculty and Student co-authored Research Publication

Lauren Agpoon

Lauren Agpoon (BSBA ’22, MBA ’23) and Energy Professor Eric Olson co-authored an energy article entitled “Simplify Permitting and Unleash Energy Production” in City Journal magazine, a nationally recognized premier urban-policy magazine. The joint effort not only highlights their academic prowess but also exemplifies The University of Tulsa’s Collins College of Business mission to empower the next generation of business leaders.

This inspiring partnership underscores the strategic initiatives outlined in the college’s mission. By actively engaging students in research endeavors, we aim to foster a culture of innovation and academic excellence. Through hands-on experiences like co-authoring papers, students gain invaluable insights and skills that prepare them for leadership roles in the business world, which aligns with the overall university goal to become a top research institution.

Agpoon said ” The current permitting process for energy infrastructure projects in the U.S. is filled with inefficiencies and delays that inhibit access to reliable, affordable energy. The costs associated with these delays are passed on to the American consumer in the form of higher electricity and gas prices. These are just a few of the reasons why permitting reform is necessary to help streamline the path for building critical energy infrastructure.”
