I have another experience from my time at The University of Tulsa that speaks more to the quality of the student body here on campus. When I first arrived on campus, I was clueless about working in a chemistry lab, which is humorous because I had lab three days a week during the summer. I remember meeting a student in the lab on the first day. I will not use his name for his privacy, but this student was an exponential help to me. Like I mentioned earlier, coming from a small high school did not prepare me to work in a real chemistry lab, so my new friend would help me with my experiments. He would not do the work for me, but he would help me get the proper equipment to do the experiment. What I found was unique about this is that not only did he help me in the lab, he also would invite me to do stuff with his friends. This is how I quickly expanded my social circle at TU and started forming those family-like bonds with students. My new friend in the lab soon grew into my best friend and helped me adapt to college and living in the city. I think this is what is unique about TU; the students are genuinely kind and helpful. Moving to college can be daunting, but when you have support as you do at The University of Tulsa, it turns a daunting task into an enjoyable experience.
