College of Engineering & Computer Science rises in 2026 U.S. News graduate rankings

The University of Tulsa’s College of Engineering & Computer Science improved in multiple categories in the 2026 graduate rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report, reflecting continued strength across its engineering programs.

“Our faculty and students continue to push the boundaries of innovation and academic excellence,” said Andreas A. Polycarpou, Ph.D., James R. Sorem Dean of the College of Engineering & Computer Science. “These rankings highlight the collaborative, forward-thinking environment we have built at UTulsa.”

The college’s overall ranking rose two spots to 134, while the computer engineering graduate program saw a notable increase, climbing from 138 to 132.

The U.S. News graduate program rankings are based on peer assessments from academic leaders across the country, measuring institutional reputation and program quality.

Several specialized programs also earned national recognition. Petroleum engineering is ranked No. 4, maintaining its position among the nation’s top programs. Other ranked programs include chemical engineering at No. 115 and mechanical engineering at No. 162.

The rankings reflect ongoing investment in research, industry collaboration and hands-on learning opportunities for students. Through initiatives such as joint industry projects and applied research partnerships, students gain invaluable experience solving complex, real-world challenges.
