Dear TU community,
Our colleague Linda Nichols will be leaving her post as dean of the Collins College of Business on July 29. While I am sad to lose a valued member of The University of Tulsa community, I am pleased to report that Linda has accepted an exciting new position as dean of the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Linda is an internationally regarded business expert in the energy sector who has consulted widely around the globe. Following 21 years at Texas Tech University, Linda joined TU as an associate dean and Collins Professor of Accounting in 2011. In 2018, she became the director of the School of Energy Economics, Policy and Business and the A. Charles Funai Professor of Energy and Accounting. Among her many achievements, Linda served as the director of Graduate Business Programs and led the reinvention of our MBA program. She has also been at the forefront of online education across our university. Last year, Linda was named the Genave King Rogers dean of the College of Business, the first female dean in the college’s 85-year history.
Thank you to Senior Associate Dean Ralph Jackson, who has agreed to serve as interim dean as we plan our next steps.
Please join me in thanking Linda for her exemplary service and in wishing her well on the journey ahead.
Sincerely,
Tracy Manly
Acting Provost
