The University of Tulsa’s top ranked graduate programs have been recognized as among the nation’s best for 2017 by U.S. News & World Report. The rankings are based on several factors including quality, reputation, placement success and student selectivity. TU’s internationally renowned McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering is ranked No. 4 in the country, while the TU College of Law is listed among the Top 100 law schools in the nation for the fifth consecutive year.
“The McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering is pleased to earn such a prestigious national ranking among these competitive degree programs,” said James R. Sorem Jr., dean of TU’s College of Engineering and Natural Sciences. “We recognize the vital role energy plays in economic development as we prepare yet another generation of students to be industry leaders in a global market.”
Overall, The University of Tulsa is a Top 50 private research institution and is ranked No. 86 among all national universities.
“U.S. News & World Report once again reflects that TU Law remains a strong and stable top 100 law school that offers an outstanding educational experience for our students,” said Lyn Entzeroth, TU Law dean and Dean John Rogers Endowed Chair.
The College of Law is offering Access to Legal Education Scholarship (ALES) for the 2016-17 academic year. The program awards a renewable $18,000 annual scholarship to first-year College of Law students from a 12-state region. ALES provides entering students access to a TU legal education for less than the cost of attending other private and many public law schools in the region.
