Following a national search, Cassy Abbott Eng, Ph.D., has been named the new executive director of the School of Nursing in The University of Tulsa’s Oxley College of Health & Natural Sciences. Dr. Susan Pepin, Thomas E. Oxley dean for the college and professor of community medicine, made the announcement Monday, Aug. 12.
Eng has served as interim director since January and succeeds Bill Buron, an assistant professor of nursing who served as director for four years. Eng has been a faculty member in the School of Nursing since 2016. She has served as the inaugural director of online programs and associate dean for academic and student affairs.
Eng brings practical experience in nursing education with a vision to elevate UTulsa’s reputation as a nationally ranked nursing school. As executive director, she will oversee the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral nursing programs to prepare students for successful careers as leaders in the rapidly evolving health care industry.
