This fall, 120 new students joined The University of Tulsa’s College of Law, the largest incoming class since the COVID-19 pandemic. They bring with them a wide range of experiences, perspectives and professional backgrounds as they begin their legal education.
Including students who committed to begin in spring 2026, the incoming class totals 139 students from New York to California and from Florida to Washington state. The cohort reflects UTulsa Law’s continued commitment to attracting talented and driven students from across the country.
The incoming class is composed of 47% women, 22% first-generation college students and 28% nontraditional students. Students represent 19 states, with 52% coming from Oklahoma, as well as one international student. Six tribal nations are represented among the incoming class, which includes graduates of 63 different undergraduate institutions.
Beyond the numbers, the new students bring diverse academic, professional and life experiences to the classroom. Some have lived and studied abroad and have worked in fields ranging from law firms and courts to journalism, finance, accounting, marketing and education. Others have backgrounds in nursing, military service, oil and gas, conservation, construction and ranching.
“The strength of a law school community comes from the perspectives students bring into the classroom,” said Interim Dean Marc Roark. “This incoming class reflects a remarkable breadth of experiences and backgrounds, and we look forward to helping these students build on those strengths as they develop into the next generation of attorneys, advocates and leaders.”
