Dear UTulsa community,
As summer break comes to an end and we prepare to embark on a new academic year, I am excited by the numerous opportunities and exciting ventures awaiting the College of Engineering & Computer Science. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of excellence.
Our engineering students recently showcased their innovation by designing a custom, lightweight, compactable flagpole that met NASA’s stringent requirements. Their participation highlights the practical application of their engineering skills and positions them for potential contributions to future lunar missions.
We are also pleased to announce the addition of two esteemed faculty members, Mohammad Khajenejad, Ph.D., and Aaditya Khanal, Ph.D., to our academic community. Khajenejad’s expertise in mechanical engineering and Khanal’s specialization in chemical engineering will greatly enhance our research and educational capabilities. Their appointments reflect our commitment to academic innovation.
Additionally, chair of petroleum engineering, Mohan Kelkar, Ph.D., and professor of petroleum engineering, Cem Saricia, Ph.D., have been recognized with prestigious awards by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. These honors celebrate their outstanding contributions to petroleum engineering and their dedication to mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Justin Miller, associate professor of practice of cyber studies, brings an unconventional and fascinating background to UTulsa. Miller’s career spans law enforcement, the U.S. Secret Service, and cybersecurity. His extensive experience, including high-profile cyber investigations and international protection assignments, enriches our cyber studies program.
Your support is the cornerstone of our success. I have seen firsthand the outstanding accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff, who consistently exhibit excellence, creativity, and perseverance. It is an honor to be part of such a dynamic and inclusive community that nurtures progress.
