Dear alumni and friends,

As we move through the final stretch of the spring semester, I continue to be inspired by the momentum across the College of Engineering & Computer Science. I am pleased to share several recent highlights that reflect the depth and breadth of this work.

First, I am proud to report that UTulsa’s McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering has been named among the top 100 petroleum engineering programs worldwide in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject. This recognition places UTulsa among a select group of global institutions acknowledged for academic excellence, research impact and strong post graduation outcomes.

We also recently had the privilege of celebrating excellence within our alumni community during the 2026 College of Engineering & Computer Science Hall of Fame induction ceremony. On April 24, we welcomed three outstanding alumni into this distinguished group: Katherine Wallgren, David Iverson, and John W. Lindsay. Their professional accomplishments and continued engagement with UTulsa highlight the lifelong relationship between our graduates and the college.

This past month, the College of Engineering & Computer Science hosted a National Academy of Engineering member-led event on the topic of “Energy and Subsurface Engineering: Challenges, Technologies and Future Directions.” This marks the second consecutive year our university has hosted this prestigious gathering. The event brought together leaders from academia, industry and government to engage in thoughtful discussion on the future of energy and subsurface engineering.

Finally, I would like to express our deep gratitude to Sarah and John Graves for their generous gift naming the Sarah and John Graves Institute for Robotics and Autonomy. This investment significantly strengthens UTulsa’s interdisciplinary research efforts in robotics, autonomy and collaborative systems. The resources provided through this gift will support facilities, research staff, faculty collaboration and student engagement for years to come.

Together, these milestones reflect a college that is moving forward with purpose and confidence. Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to all that we will continue to accomplish together.

Warm Regards,
Andreas A. Polycarpou
