Dear colleagues,

This fall, we are proud to share several exciting developments that reflect the continued growth and impact of the College of Engineering & Computer Science at The University of Tulsa. We are leading the front in our research in battery innovation, contributing to space applications and more.
Our college has recently risen in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report rankings – a recognition that underscores our commitment to academic rigor, research excellence, and student success. This achievement reflects our mission to provide students with a modern, high-quality educational experience.
We are also pleased to highlight our presence at the Society of Petroleum Engineers Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in Houston, where the McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering is actively engaging with global leaders in energy innovation. This event provides a valuable platform for our faculty and students to share research, foster collaboration, and represent the university on an international stage.
In September, the college hosted our first Hulings Distinguished Lecture Series of the year. This lecture featured a timely and thought-provoking discussion on the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy with renowned scientist S. Sundar Manoharan, Ph.D., director general of Pandit Deendayal Energy University. These events exemplify our commitment to addressing the grand challenges of our time through interdisciplinary dialogue and progressive scholarship.
As the semester progresses, we remain focused on advancing research, cultivating innovation, and preparing our students to lead in a rapidly evolving world. Thank you for your continued support and engagement with the college. Together, we are shaping a future defined by excellence and impact.
Warm regards,
Andreas A. Polycarpou
