The University of Tulsa is honoring the memory of Pat Case, a supporter and friend of the university, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 12. Pat and her husband, Mike, have greatly contributed to the growth of our campus through the funding of outstanding facilities, including the Pat Case Dining Center, the Case Athletic Complex and the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The family also continues to change the lives of many young people through the Case Fund that positively impacts student-athletes as well as the Mike and Pat Case Tulsa Talent Initiative Scholarship Fund, which is designed to attract area students to The University of Tulsa, especially those who are likely to stay in the region after graduation and use their talents to help our city thrive.

“For more than 30 years, Pat, along with her husband, Mike, have provided for and supported University of Tulsa students at a level that’s unprecedented in our history. Beyond the bricks and mortar projects, I believe the Case Scholars and Case Fund were among her greatest joys,” said Interim President Rick Dickson. “Witnessing her interact with student recipients has been one of the most rewarding parts of my UTulsa experience. There was a glow and happiness radiating from her as she saw the hope and opportunity in the faces of thousands of young members of the Hurricane family. We are forever appreciative of and thankful for Pat.”

In addition to her support of UTulsa’s athletic and academic programs, Pat volunteered tirelessly on behalf of numerous philanthropic organizations throughout the city. On Sunday, Feb. 15, just a few days after her passing, Tulsa celebrated the grand opening of the Case Family Safety Center. It was Pat’s decision to be the major donor to this very worthy project, which serves to help battered and abused women and children.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Case family at this time, as we all remember a kind and generous figure whose presence had a lasting impact on all those around her. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at The Assembly Church (South Campus), 3500 W. New Orleans St., Broken Arrow.
