How I Had the Easiest Day in a University of Tulsa Physics Class

We all dread it, the infamous college physics class. This was no ordinary physics course, but one taught by the even more famous Jerry McCoy, a distinguished professor presented always in the nicest cowboy boots and bolo tie. The course was fast, and McCoy loved to stay on schedule. Although, on Valentine’s Day, McCoy’s wife and son stormed the classroom with holiday candy and their pet dog, Fin, wearing bunny ears. Lost for words, all he could do was pet his dog and look to his students for answers. The entire class indulged in laughs as we ate candy over our free body diagrams and notes of general physics. A great Friday it was, as the stickler for scheduling gave us the biggest smile from ear to ear and gave us the rest of the class off to celebrate. As a student at the University of Tulsa, I cherish the strong curriculum, fast pace, and heavy environment to learn, but walking out of that class confused with happiness was a great memory that I am glad to have that could have only been experienced by sitting in a TU lecture hall. TU has a strange way of not only creating friendships with peers, but also with the professors from the unique class setting and professor student ratios. Even though it was the easiest physics class a student could have, I still learned a lot from professor McCoy that day.
