January 2024 Business Faculty Spotlight: Chris Wright

Each month, as part of the Friends of Finance luncheon, a faculty member and graduate student are highlighted for their achievements and accomplishments. In January 2024, Chris Wright, director of The University of Tulsa’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, was recognized for his contributions to TU’s Collins College of Business.

Wright (BA ’94, PhD ’00) has been on the faculty at TU for over a decade, teaching courses on industrial-organizational psychology and business including leadership, entrepreneurship, human resources, marketing research, and research methods. He has published research in the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of Business & Psychology. In February 2023, he was named inaugural director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.

Outside of his work with TU, Wright is a serial entrepreneur and has been a co-founder or founding investor in numerous Tulsa-based technology companies, including Reliant, Medefy, MeIn3, and Plannly. He also serves as an adviser to several startups, including Remble, SkinCheck, SmartTracker, and Billion Minds. Additionally, he is a venture adviser for 46VC and Techstars. An active member within the community, Wright has served as president of the Tulsa Area Human Resources Association (TAHRA) and on numerous professional and advisory boards throughout Tulsa. He is currently a board member at Street School.
