Work-study position: Film equipment tech
The Department of Film Studies at the Lorton Performance Center seeks to hire one or two work-study students as film equipment techs. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Checking film equipment in and out to students
- Keeping equipment organized and making sure everything is working properly
- Keeping an updated and detailed inventory log
- Assisting students with equipment questions and concerns
- Occasional assistance with film events
This is a flexible and somewhat laid-back position; however, candidates must be organized, self-driven and able to work with little supervision. A minimum of four hours per week must be committed, but up to 10 will be allowed if there are no scheduling conflicts.
Candidates must first be approved through the Office of Financial Aid before applying as a work-study student.

Lorton Performance Center staff

Our staff provides support for all the events held at the Lorton Performance Center (LPC). We handle all lighting, sound, AV, rigging, setup and usher needs for LPC productions. Those events range from movies and plays to orchestra concerts and everything in between. Students work hand in hand with performers, professors and professional crews to ensure great productions.
No experience is necessary. Employees with any performance-related, theatrical, musical or AV experience are appreciated; however, we will train those without.
