Law alumna elected president of Tulsa County Bar

Stephanie Jackson (J.D. ’18)

Stephanie Jackson (J.D. ’18) is getting very familiar with the gavel as she was recently elected to serve as president of the Tulsa County Bar Association (TCBA). Jackson also will serve as chief executive officer of the association and chair of the Executive Committee, presiding over all meetings of the TCBA and its board of directors.

“Being elected as president of our Tulsa County Bar Association is an incredible honor and a humbling milestone in my career,” she said. “It represents not only personal achievement but also the progress our community has made in embracing diversity and inclusion. I am committed to continuing to enhance and embrace this culture.”

Jackson has a bold vision for the TCBA. Building on a strong foundation, her goal is to enhance the association’s operation by focusing on key areas such as leadership development and maintaining a strong commitment to the mental health and well-being of members. A key priority will be to increase engagement and collaboration within the bar association, including the development of a leadership institute workshop and the promotion of an inclusive culture that fosters and embraces every member’s participation.

Jackson credits her time at The University of Tulsa’s College of Law with shaping her career. The rigorous academic environment, experiences gained through the Solo Practice Legal Clinic and an opportunity to study abroad at the University College of Dublin, coupled with dedicated professors and a diverse student body, set her up for success upon entering the legal field.

As a member of the alumni board of directors for both the law school and the university, Jackson continues to remain connected to the UTulsa community, something she says is important to her and her continued career success.

“I hope that in my term as president of the TCBA, I can serve as an inspiration to others to show that they, too, have the ability to lead,” she concluded.
