As we dive into a new academic year filled with fresh faces, innovative ideas, and continued growth, The University of Tulsa’s College of Engineering & Computer Science is eager to embrace the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead. The spirit of collaboration and discovery remains at the heart of everything we do, and I look forward to the milestones we will achieve together in the months to come.
I am proud to announce UTulsa’s petroleum engineering undergraduate program is now ranked No. 1 among private universities, according to U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, UTulsa’s computer science program saw a remarkable improvement, climbing 33 spots from the previous year to Top 75 among private institutions. These achievements reflect the faculty’s dedication to providing a top-tier education with cutting-edge facilities and research opportunities.
We were honored to welcome Sen. James Lankford as he toured our North Campus hydrogen blending research facility. This cutting-edge project, led by our talented faculty and students, is advancing vital energy solutions for a more sustainable future. We’re excited about the future of hydrogen as part of the transition to cleaner, more efficient energy sources.
A delegation from China’s Yangtze University recently visited UTulsa to strengthen our existing partnership. The visit included discussions on expanding student exchange programs and potential joint research initiatives, particularly in energy transition and engineering. The partnership aims to enhance academic collaboration, offering students cross-cultural experiences.
UTulsa is also embarking on a new era of renewable energy with the installation of state-of-the-art solar panels on campus, marking a significant investment in sustainable technology. This initiative aims to both reduce the university’s carbon footprint and serve as a real-world learning opportunity for students.
Lastly, the School of Cyber Studies hosted a visit by the National Security Agency (NSA), focusing on cybersecurity challenges and best practices for national security. The event provided students and faculty with insights from NSA experts on current cyber threats and strategies for protecting critical infrastructure.
As we embark on a new academic year, we are thrilled to welcome everyone back to campus. This fresh start brings with it an abundance of exciting opportunities, brimming with potential to shape the future of sustainability. Together, we look forward to making meaningful strides!
