Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Lawrencia Gaisie discovered her passion for sales by actively engaging in her family’s business. In 2013, Gaisie earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Ghana. This passion for business continued to flourish, leading her to establish a mobile clothing business on campus while pursuing her studies. She balanced her entrepreneurial endeavors with her academic commitments, selling clothes between hostels and rooms after lectures during the week and assisting her mother with the family business on weekends. Her natural inclination toward sales and marketing led her seamlessly into a career in this field following her graduation.
Throughout her career, Gaisie has demonstrated her leadership qualities. She successfully managed business development and product penetration initiatives in challenging markets, particularly within the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industry at Zutron Pharmaceuticals Limited. Additionally, her experience as a product manager for leading brands like Rockwell, Schneider and Gilbarco Veeder-Root at Process and Plant Automation, and Universal Engineering Limited showcased her ability to deliver exceptional sales experiences and vendor relationship management. Her career journey has taken her through the dynamic worlds of information technology solutions, pharmaceutical sales, downstream oil and gas sales, building solutions, and automation sales, equipping her with a wealth of experience and a versatile skill set.
In 2022, Gaisie received a master’s degree in international business from the University of Ghana. This strong foundation in understanding human behavior and navigating the complexities of global commerce has been enriched by her pursuit of a second master’s degree in business analytics at The University of Tulsa’s Collins College of Business. Additionally, she has honed her technical skills through certifications in project management and database management from the Cambridge Center of Excellence and IPMC College of Technology in Ghana. Her academic pursuits are complemented by her proficiency in various technical tools and software, including Python, R programming, Power BI, Tableau, and the Microsoft suite. This expertise coupled with her strong business acumen, allows her to approach challenges with a data-driven and analytical perspective, translating insights into actionable strategies.
Beyond her academic and professional endeavors, Gaisie engages with the TU community. She holds pivotal roles as the social media manager and creative director for the African Students Association, the publicist for the Association of International Students, a graduate student ambassador and a Graduate Senate representative. Currently, she leverages her communication and marketing skills as a graduate assistant in the Student Success Center managing marketing and communication initiatives.
Gaisie’s diverse background, combined with her ongoing pursuit of knowledge, technical expertise, and proven leadership skills make her an invaluable asset to any organization. Her dedication to continuous learning, coupled with her unwavering determination to make a positive impact fuels her passion for success in all aspects of her life.
