Something that I was aware of before my arrival here was that the University of Tulsa has a good but small, compared to other Universities, rowing team. From the moment that I met the coaches and the team members I feel so lucky, and I am glad for making this decision. The atmosphere is very friendly and supportive, and the result is that everybody is acting as a unit with common plans and goals. The team spirit is one of the advantages that girls have, and they use it to move forward and make every season count. I remember all the girls from the team willing to help me with everything I need and they never left me alone especially on my first three weeks. In that way, it was so easy for me to adjust and feel comfortable because I knew that I am not alone, even when I am so far away from home.
As NCAA Division I rowers, we have our tough training programs and early morning practices but in the end we just making sure to have fun together and that is very helpful for our mentality. I am so satisfied with the choice that I made to join this team because we are treat our differences as our strengths and nobody feels alone.
