In high school I thought I knew exactly what I wanted out of a college experience. I thought I wanted a huge school with lots of people, big classes, and just a larger school environment. But, when it really came time to make a decision, I reevaluated what I thought I wanted and compared it to the details of what I really wanted. When it came to it, I didn’t want to just be a number lost in a sea of thousands of other students. I wanted to be seen and known. I wanted to know my professors, be able to meet with them, and receive guidance from them.
That has been one of the most beneficial things I have experience attending the University of Tulsa. I feel like I am much more than just a number as a student at TU. My professors have given so much guidance. They have helped me choose the classes that are the best for me, they have given me career advice, and they have helped land internship interviews that I have been really excited about. Because I am able to really connect with my professors, I have been able to do well in my courses due to their accessibility. The small class sizes at TU have really contributed to my success both as a student and as an internship candidate. I am very thankful I chose what I really wanted out of an education over the experience that I originally thought I wanted.
