New Beginnings at TU

A new life was ahead of me when I left St. Louis to begin my college career at the University of Tulsa. I was very nervous to make new friends and adjust to a new environment. When I was finally settling into my new dorm, I began to head to the Reynold’s center for Matriculation. At the Matriculation I was able to meet my orientation group for the first time, and I was very excited rather than nervous to be at the University of Tulsa. I was able to bond with people in my group throughout the week at the play fair, the trip to Frontier Cove, and the scavenger hunt. The play fair was an amazing event because you are given a personality question with your group, and everyone gets to answer allowing you to get to know everyone better. It was a great way to bond with people in your group and meet new friends. I was also able to go around campus to see where all my classes were to ensure no first day mess ups. It was awesome to see that some students in my group had the same classes that I had! To cap the week off we had the scavenger hunt around the campus. There were around twenty-five stops that we had to make and a clue for the next stop. It was a great experience going around the campus and working as a team to answer the questions and discover where the next stop was. During orientation week I was able to become completely comfortable in the new environment I would spend the next four years in.
