Notes of gratitude

TU’s bachelor of music education students let the School of Music professors and staff know how much they appreciate their work and flexibility during this exceptionally challenging period.

Notes of GratitudeBy: Aaron T. Wacker, Assistant Professor of Music Education

The University of Tulsa School of Music’s bachelor of music education (B.M.E.) degree is designed to prepare new teachers for all aspects of K-12 music classrooms. This means we not only focus on our curriculum, but we also emphasize the value of music as a social and emotional connection to society.

TU’s music education professional organization, the National Association for Music Education Collegiate (NAfME-C), has continued to serve our faculty and staff with their Notes of Gratitude this semester. As this semester has been especially difficult, NAfME-C members invited current TU students to write thank-you notes to staff and professors. Teaching during a pandemic is challenging, so BME students wanted to let their professors and the school’s staff know how much they appreciate their work and flexibility.
