Stephanie Acquario (Class of ’23) serves as a senior editor on the Energy Law Journal and as executive editor for Year in Review . She is a joint JD/MBA student and has held a variety of interesting placements, including work with SERL Board of Visitors member Jason Aamodt’s (JD ’96) Indian and Environmental Law Group at the Conservation Law Foundation, in Boston. We are proud to announce that Acquario has been awarded a position at the Denver Office of the Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resources Division for summer 2022.
Samantha Barber of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, was recently selected for the United States Air Force JAG Corps. Barber is pursuing a SERL concentration and is on the editorial board of the Energy Law Journal, serving as a notes editor. While at TU Law, she has been a summer associate at Riggs Abney and an extern with Magellan Midstream Partners. In the spring, she will complete an externship with Williams. Barber will begin active duty after graduation in May.
Michael Campbell (Class of ’22) is the editor in chief of the Energy Law Journal and is vice president of the Public Interest Board. Campbell was awarded the Robert A. Butkin Outstanding Student Note Award for the work he completed on his case note for the Energy Law Journal. He externed under in-house counsel at Williams during the fall of 2020. This summer he will law clerk at Underwood Perkins, P.C., in Dallas, and upon graduation will be working for the firm in their transactional practice. He and his wife just welcomed a new baby girl in November.
Collin Crisp (Class of ’22) is a native Tulsan and a 3L at TU Law. Crisp interned with the Bank of Oklahoma and Williams Companies in each corporation’s respective commercial real estate office. Crisp is the 2021-22 president of the Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law Society and president of the Business Law Society. He has an interest in a career working for an oil and gas company or utilities provider.
Rhyder Jolliff (Class of ’22) is a proud Okie from Muskogee and serves as Warigia Bowman’s graduate assistant for administrative law, energy regulation and policy, and water law. The two are currently authoring pieces on safe yield in water law, Southwestern megadrought-induced aquifer depletion and cannabis law. Upon graduation, Jolliff will join the Tulsa office of GableGotwals.
Chayla Witherspoon (Class of ’22) currently serves as the editor in chief of the ABA SEER’s The Year in Review. She is a member of the Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law Society and the Entertainment & Sports Law Society. Witherspoon externed under in-house counsel at Williams during summer 2020 and 2021. She will graduate in May with a Juris Doctor and LL.M. in Energy and Natural Resources Law. After graduation, Witherspoon plans to practice in energy and environmental law in the Denver area.
