It is often said that you go to college for a degree, but people tend to leave out that you also go to grow as a person, make connections, and for the experience as well.
Personally, I believe that professors play a key role in making all four of these things come true. I have had two professors who have been integral in my college education for a few reasons.
The first reason is that they both recruited me to TU and then once I got to campus as a freshman made sure that I knew that their doors were always open for me. Fast forward to when I was getting ready to make my schedule for the spring semester of my freshman year, one of them had me meet with them to make sure my schedule would be both challenging but also doable.
Another reason is that professors can help you make connections with alumni and recruiters from companies. I also believe that professors are more in the know with requirements for certain licenses and constantly evolving rules. I also believe that professors are essential for making sure that students also get the full college experience because they directly affect how much time students have to go do fun things that college kids do.
Overall, professors make the difference between college being simply a box to check off and making it fun and interesting while learning. I truly believe that only at TU are the professors able to form these relationships with students and make their experience here second to none.
