September 2023 Business Faculty Spotlight: Cayman Seagraves

During the academic year, The University of Tulsa’s Friends of Finance holds a monthly gathering during which one faculty member and one graduate student are spotlighted for their excellence and achievement. In September, Cayman Seagraves, assistant professor in the Collins College of Business’ School of Finance and Operations, was honored for his dedication to education and scholarship.

In his work, Seagraves examines the influence of political connections and dark money on firms, including studies on political scandals, and topics such as institutional segmentation, real estate investment trust demand, risk-taking, and market efficiency, with ongoing research on development pipelines. Additionally, he is interested in environmental and social issues, focusing on corporate social responsibility and sustainability, including green buildings and the impact of social media on pollution.
