Kim Childs, Professor of Choral Studies and Voice, was a major tenor soloist for the Beethoven Mass in C Major that was performed at the Admiral Twin on Oct. 13 by the Tulsa Chorale and Tulsa Symphony Orchestra.

 

 

 

 

 

Aaron T. Wacker, Assistant Professor of Music Education, had a recent research project accepted for presentation for the 34th World Conference for the International Society for Music Education in Helsinki, Finland. Unfortunately, the conference was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

 

 

 

 

The Dean DeMerritt Jazz Tribe features TU adjuncts Sarah Maud on vocals and Sean Al-jibouri on guitar, with pianist Scott McQuade and drummer Jared Johnson. The group played a free Arts in the Air outdoor concert on Nov. 13 at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. The concert included an eclectic mix of modern jazz with repertoire from Django Reinhardt, Jaco Pastorius, the Beatles and more.

Alumni spotlight

E. Tejada III (B.M.E. ’08) is now the instructor of residence life at the Interlochen Center for the Arts.

Katelyn Brooke Baker (B.M.E. ’20) accepted a position as middle school choir teacher at Glenpool Middle School.
