Tulsa has many unbelievable people. I have been here for 1 ½ years and have met friends that will last me all of my life. Coming from a place like Stillwater, you meet a lot of people from all walks of life but many of the people are there for the partying and females rather than the education and friendships. After visiting Tulsa in October of 2019 at a Halloween party, it made me want to transfer. After seeing how everyone got along and treated every person with respect, I knew right there that I wanted to be a Golden Hurricane.
Now that I’m at TU, I really get to experience true friendship from people who share similar motivations as myself. My brother plays football for Tulsa and was a big reason why I came. TU will always be a special place for me because it gave me more time to spend with my brother who has also made many great friends here that we will have for many years to come.
One of my favorite memories that I have from Tulsa is when Covid-19 got serious and school shut down. All of my friends from TU decided to go out and camp at Devil’s Den state park and get away from all the madness that was happening. Little things are always the biggest for me when looking back on my life. I am so grateful that I could spend my last years as a kid at such a great state and University like Tulsa.
