TU, Collins College of Business partner with 36°N basecamp for entrepreneurs

University of Tulsa’s Collins College of Business is pleased to announce its new partnership with 36 Degrees North (36°N), Tulsa’s basecamp for entrepreneurs, remote workers and innovators. The agreement allows all TU students and faculty to enjoy in 36°N’s workspace and resources and provides students with a more purposeful connection to the city’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.

36°N provides free workshops, programs and support services for promising TU student entrepreneurs, including connections to advisers, speaking opportunities and student access to internship and job opportunities with 36°N’s ecosystem of startups and programs.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome The University of Tulsa as an official partner,” said Devon Laney, president and CEO of 36 Degrees North; “This kind of purposeful collaboration allows our organization to provide entrepreneurial education and programming to Tulsa’s growing businesses while investing in the next generation of entrepreneurs right here in our city.”

36°N will lead and facilitate on-campus programs associated with JOLT@TUBusiness for entrepreneurial activities such as business pitch competitions, speaker series and career mentoring, regardless of major or college.

The Jolt Creativity Club and the Nova Fellowship are open to all TU students and will work closely with 36°N on programming and new opportunities. The TU-36°N partnership provides meaningful opportunities for co-curricular programming embedded in academic courses, specifically for innovation and entrepreneurship minors.

“The University of Tulsa and Collins College of Business are uniquely positioned to expand our support of the region’s growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and provide additional opportunities for our students to learn and experience the value of entrepreneurial skills,” said Collins College of Business Dean Kathy Taylor.

TU now has a community-based partner to help students launch real businesses. The partnership allows the university to better identify student interest in entrepreneurship while providing support and resources to encourage calculated risk-taking.
