I transferred to TU for my sophomore year. I came from a school where I did not have a very good experience. A lot of that came from how the community and students were at my old school. Long story short, the people just weren’t very nice. So, coming to TU, I was nervous that I would have the same experience. I so desperately wanted to go to a school where the students were kind and the faculty actually cared. Let me just say, TU is exactly what I was praying for. After the first week of being at TU, I knew this school was the right choice. I made friends right away, which you would think would be hard since classes were online last year, but this school’s community is so active so I was destined to make friends no matter the circumstances. Along with the instant connections made with fellow students, I also felt really great about all my professors. I had some rough experiences with my professors from my old university, but every professor I have had here has been amazing at teaching while simultaneously actually caring about their students well being. I learned a big lesson after settling in at TU. I learned to never let past experiences taint my feelings about the future. This is because I let my bad experience at my first college affect how I felt about college as a whole, instead of letting it go and going into TU with a positive mindset.
