TU Will Help You Succeed

Coming into college as a freshman can be very intimidating and sometimes you can feel a bit clueless. High school is pretty simple in terms of progression, classes are limited and you’re ultimately just told which classes to take to graduate. In university making sure you stay on top of things is very important, especially at a university like TU where so many courses and career paths are open. Though it’s scary, TU’s faculty is always there to help. I’ve heard horror stories from other colleges where professors or counselors take forever to reply to any concerns. Of course, this is understandable when the faculty-student ratio is higher. But at TU, I’ve always found it easy to set up meetings with professors or advising sessions with a counselor. I have now attended TU for 2 full years as a student and have yet to have an email go unread for more than a day or two. This I feel is a huge deal especially in earlier stages in the college experience when a student’s still getting acclimated to the environment. As an incoming student who may not have college workload management down, having professors that are readily available is a massive upside. In the beginning, deadlines can seem to creep up on you. I’ve personally even emailed professors the day of a deadline and gotten a quick response. Professors are also always willing to guide you through any career queries if you need an opinion. This sort of availability helps not only with navigating through college but also learning and finding lifelong mentors.
