University of Tulsa: Activities Fair

Every year, at the beginning of the school year, TU hosts a three-hour event for students to learn which clubs are offered on campus. On August 26th, 2021 at 6 pm, Erin, Carlos, McHale, Kimberly, and I hit the old U to see all the booths that were set up.

Each booth had information about their club and little goodies to take home too: there were t-shirts, pizza, candy, popsicles, tote bags, and much more. There were about 129 booths at the fair and we “window shopped” every single one. Kimberly got goodies from every single booth she went up to and signed up for a lot of groups. Erin found two groups she felt interested in and unfortunately, McHale and I did not find one that we wanted to join.

Carlos joined a few and got a few t-shirts just for the heck of it; he actually wore his “BCM” (Baptist Christian Ministry) shirt the other day, so at least we know it’s not going to waste.

It was nice to see which clubs and hobbies my new friends were into and to just spend time together, even if I didn’t find a group of my own.

During the activities fair, there are food trucks in the middle of the old U for free, just for being a student! It is a really cool experience and it’s nice to be able to see all the clubs offered on campus. Also, as an added bonus, if the club you were looking for is not offered, TU will let you start your own club, as long as you get ten people, and they will even fund it!
