Volunteer opportunities

We’ve seen firsthand the generosity of TU parents.

Golden Hurricane moms and dads share their time, capabilities and resources. From cheering on our Golden Hurricane at special events and helping to recruit new students to establishing invaluable scholarship opportunities, each family creates a unique way of being involved that is meaningful for them and helpful for TU students.

Through the TU Parent and Family Association (TUPFA), there are many ways for you to plug in, network with other parents and support student success.

We hope you will join us in supporting our students; please see below for more engaging ways to make a difference in the lives of our Golden Hurricane students!

Golden Hurricane parent ambassadors

Parent ambassadors are among our most generous parent donors, freely giving one of their most precious commodities: time. As members of TUPFA, parents are our most reliable volunteers for various campus and regional events. Many times, you’ll find TUPFA members greeting at the doors of TU recruiting events, helping the new student orientation team with freshman move-in and offering a warm smile to new Golden Hurricane families at our regional admission events for new students and parents. Event opportunities vary in location, duration and frequency.

Assisting with on-campus recruitment events:

  • Outreach to prospective students parents
  • Attending regional alumni and prospective student events
  • Providing internship and employment leads for TU graduates

Golden Hurricane parent employers

Parent employers are among our most generous parent leaders, freely giving one of their most precious commodities: opportunity. These parents are often industry leaders, hiring managers or simply well-connected people with the ability to provide internship and employment opportunities and leads for TU students.

The goal of this volunteer is to work in close collaboration with the Office of Career & Professional Development and to register as a supportive parent on the uvulas connect networking platform. Approved positions will be available for current students to search and apply for via the university-wide recruiting platform, Handshake.
