About

Brady McElligott is a composer, pianist, coach, and vocalist. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music composition from The Florida State University, where he studied composition with Harold Schiffman and John Boda, piano with Leonard Mastrogiacomo, and voice with Randolph Symonette and Roy Delp. He has spent many years as musical director/coach for university and community opera programs, community theatre, and as vocal soloist in recital and oratorio, as well as the comic operatic bass-baritone (Alcindoro/Benoit, Don Pasquale, the Mozart Figaro, etc.). McElligott has sung with Opera Southwest, the University of New Mexico Opera Theatre, La Zarzuela de Alburquerque, and has been vocal soloist and pianist for the Pueblo Opera Program of the Santa Fe Opera. He has also been Korrepetitor and vocal soloist for the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, and musical director for La Zarzuela de Alburquerque.

McElligott spent 15 years working with the legendary opera diva Marilyn Tyler, as musical director and opera coach at The University of New Mexico, before joining the faculty of The University of Tulsa in the fall of 2007, where he teaches voice, diction for singers, vocal pedagogy, opera literature and vocal literature, and serves as the director of opera studies.
