About
Cassy Abbott Eng, Ph.D., RN, LNC, FAAN, serves as associate dean and executive director of nursing at The University of Tulsa. As president of the Oklahoma Nurses Association, Eng sits at the helm, guiding the future of the profession and health care across Oklahoma. While doing so, she serves as the strategic voice for Oklahoma nurses and actively engages on the national stage with the American Nurses Association.
A visionary nurse leader and innovator, Eng is passionately committed to strengthening the nursing workforce pipeline by fostering dynamic pathways and distinctive, high-caliber nursing programs. Inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing in recognition of her profound contributions to shaping the future of the profession through creativity and innovation, she is also a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class 37. As a Duke University-trained legal nurse consultant, Eng remains actively engaged on the front lines of the legal and ethical concerns facing the profession, weaving this passion into the tapestry of academia.
Eng is deeply dedicated to expanding opportunities for nurses beyond the bedside, preparing them to excel in executive leadership roles, lead impactful research initiatives and advance clinical practice across diverse settings, from bustling cities to rural towns, from clinics to operating rooms and from classrooms to communities. Through forward-thinking education and personalized professional development, she supports The University of Tulsa nurses in refining clinical excellence, leadership acumen and an innovative mindset needed to blaze the trail and drive the future of health care.
Eng is also the visionary founder of the Student Community Resource Unit for Baseline Support (SCRUBS), a groundbreaking student-led mobile health model that deploys student-led mobile units to deliver preventive care, screenings, early intervention, low- or no-cost resources and compassionate support to underserved communities.
