Dr. Chun Chieh Fan is a research associate professor who specializes in computational neuroscience and large scale data analytics. He focuses on developing and implementing novel analytical solutions on large and multi-modal data to better understand psychiatric disorders. He has led multiple NIH R01 projects on secondary data analyses, expanding the toolsets to investigate brain dynamics among youth.

Research Interests & Areas of Expertise
- Fan’s research focuses on estimating population indices with large scale cohort data and using them to infer the causal mechanisms underlying the emergence of diseases, especially in the neuropsychiatric domain. By integrating epidemiological perspectives, statistical genetics and high-dimensional data analytics, he and his team have developed and implemented novel algorithms to distill relevant information from large complex datasets, contributing to better understanding in the disease genesis and predicting the associated risks.
