About
Hongyang Zhu, Ph.D., is a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at The University of Tulsa. Prior to joining The University of Tulsa, he was an associate professor in the College of Physics at Jilin University, China. He received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2010. He also holds an additional doctoral degree in physics. Zhu’s research focuses on the properties of matter, such as crystal structure, electric structure, photoluminescence, etc., under extreme conditions, such as high pressures, high temperature, and high shear stress. Zhu has published over a hundred journal papers based on his scientific discoveries.
