Jose Miranda-Lopez, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Accounting


Jose Miranda-Lopez received a Fulbright scholarship to pursue his Ph.D. in accounting at Texas Tech University and joined the School of Accounting and BIS at The University of Tulsa after serving in the accounting departments at California State University, Fullerton and at Tecnológico de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico. His research focuses in the information content and the value relevance of financial information from listed companies in Mexico and Latin America, especially during periods of significant change such as economic crises and the adoption of International Accounting Standards (IFRS). His research has been published in The International Journal of Accounting, the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies, and the Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, among others.
