About
Kalpana Misra, Ph.D., specializes in Chinese politics and ideological developments. She is the author of “From Post Maoism to Post Marxism: The Erosion of Official Ideology in Deng’s China, Routledge;” co-editor of “Feminism in the Jewish State: Some Contemporary Perspectives,” Brandeis University Press; co-author of “Modern Political Theory,” Mssrs. S.Chand, Ltd. She has contributed several books chapters, book reviews and encyclopedia pieces. Her articles have been published in Asian Survey, China Report, Economic and Political Weekly, Strategic Analysis, Women and Politics, Feminist Collections, Contemporary South Asia, Journal of Comparative Asian Development, The Times of India and Tulsa World. From 2013 to 2021, she served as dean of the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. Her signature initiatives as dean included the establishment of the Oklahoma Center for the Humanities and The D’Arcy Internship Program.
