About

Langtao Chen, Ph.D., is an associate professor of business information systems in the Collins College of Business at The University of Tulsa. Before joining TU, Chen was an associate professor of business and information technology at Missouri University of Science and Technology, formerly University of Missouri-Rolla. He is a distinguished member of AIS (Association for Information Systems).

Chen’s research focuses on online communities, user-generated content, data analytics, health information technology, and user experience. He has published in journals such as Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Computer Information Systems, and Journal of Information Technology Case and Application Research, among others. Before joining academia, Chen spent seven years working as a computer systems analyst in the software development industry in Shanghai, China. He enjoys fishing as a means to relax and immerse himself in the embrace of nature.
