About

Natasha Lueras’s teaching and research interests include modern U.S. history, cultural history, women’s and gender studies, representations of race and ethnicity in the media, comedy studies, and American popular music, especially folk and country. She completed her dissertation “Hayseed Queens: Women and Rural Comedy in the Twentieth Century” in 2023. Lueras has taught courses on American history and the history of American comedy. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she has lived in Athens, Georgia and Bloomington and Gary, Indiana. As new residents of Oklahoma, Lueras and her two cats, Brutus and Prairie, are enjoying “livin’ on Tulsa Time!”
