About
Syed Raziullah Hussaini, D.Phil., received his B.Sc. with honors in 1995 and his M.Sc. in organic chemistry from the University of Karachi, Pakistan, in 1996. He joined the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, Pakistan, in 1997.
In 2000, he received the Lady Noon/OUP scholarship, which allowed him to carry out his D.Phil. at the University of Oxford. The Department of Chemistry and St. Peter’s College at Oxford provided him with the bursaries to pay for the university and the college fees. In Oxford, Razi joined Mark Moloney’s group in 2001 and finished his D.Phil. studies in 2004.
Afterward, he moved across the Atlantic to work with Robert B. Grossman at the University of Kentucky. In 2005, he moved to Emory University and worked as a postdoc with Simon Blakey. In 2006, he returned to the University of Kentucky and completed his postdoctoral work with Peter Crooks.
From 2007 to 2009, he worked at the University of Louisville, teaching various undergraduate and graduate-level chemistry courses. During this period, he also researched with G. B. Hammond. In 2009, he joined The University of Tulsa, where he is currently a professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry.
