Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing

About

Professor Cole is a registered nurse living in Jenks, Oklahoma who obtained a bachelor of science in nursing from The University of Tulsa in 2009 and a master of science in nursing from Benedictine University (Lisle, Illinois) in 2012. Over the years, she has worked as both a floor nurse and charge nurse at St. John Medical Center on a medical-surgical floor. From there, she transitioned to St. John Medical Center Emergency Department where she worked for over 10 years. Cole received and currently holds the distinguished title of Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN). The CEN certification is specific to emergency nursing and measures the attainment of a defined body of nursing knowledge pertinent to that specialty.

Cole’s teaching career started in 2012 as an adjunct medical-surgical clinical instructor at The University of Tulsa. In 2014, she joined Langston University as the nursing school’s adult health instructor. Cole has been a full time clinical associate professor of nursing at The University of Tulsa since fall 2016 and specializes in nursing student retention and maintaining TU’s NCLEX board rates.

Personally, Cole is a newlywed mother of five children: Caleb (9), Dillan (7), Kidd (5), and Chasi (4) and now is expecting a baby boy in January 2024. When not busy teaching, Cole enjoys vacationing, going to her children’s sporting events, and family game nights.

Cole’s life motto: “God first, family second, career third” (Mary Kay Ash).
