Award Negotiation and Acceptance

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has the authority to review, negotiate, and accept all sponsored awards, contractual agreements, and subawards related to sponsored programs research.

Our goals and responsibilities in negotiating all agreements are to:

  • Ensure that projects have the appropriate compliance approvals necessary for the project.
  • Ensure that members of the university staff and faculty having external funding administered by the University follow the appropriate procedures of the University.
  • Provide faculty and departments with quality service to ensure compliance within the university polices and guidelines.
  • Negotiate the award agreement within the guidelines of the¬†university as a private institution of higher education.
  • Accept and fully execute an agreement by obtaining the appropriate signatures. All agreements involving sponsored funds must be signed by an authorized agent for the sponsor and by an authorized agent of the university. The individuals authorized to bind the university are:

    • Brenton S. McLaury, Interim Vice Provost for Research and Dean of the Graduate School
