Return-to-campus COVID-19 testing, vaccination and wellness checks (student email)

Dear TU students,

To ensure a safe return to in-person classes and campus life, The University of Tulsa requires all students who have not provided proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to undergo a return-to-campus COVID-19 test and to participate in ongoing prevalence testing during the fall semester whenever prompted to do so. Regular COVID-19 testing is critically important to our ability to keep students and employees safe.

COVID-19 testing

TU will administer antigen tests on campus with no out-of-pocket expense. These fast and non-invasive tests take less than 10 minutes to process and students will be notified of their result via text message. Fully vaccinated students who provide proof of vaccination are exempt from TU’s COVID-19 testing program.

If you have not provided proof of vaccination to TU, click here to make your required testing appointment now. Return-to-campus tests will be administered in the Alcove Room of the Student Union (second floor, east end) from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Aug. 16 to 20. Bring your government-issued ID and insurance card to your appointment. When you arrive at the testing location, please check in using the QR code located in the waiting area.

Vaccines

TU encourages all students to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to protect themselves and their community. Vaccination is safe and effective at preventing serious illness and death. The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports that only 0.16% of fully vaccinated Oklahomans have contracted COVID-19. For these very rare “breakthrough” cases, vaccination limits the severity of the illness.

TU offers Moderna and J&J vaccines on campus with no out-of-pocket expense. Please call the Alexander Health Center (AHC) at 918-631-2241 to make your appointment today.

Fully vaccinated students will be entered into TU’s vaccine incentive program and have the chance to win prizes. Grand prizes include free on-campus housing, free textbooks (up to $2,000.00 value), and MacBook Air laptops.

If you have already received a vaccine, but have not yet notified the university, please upload a copy of your vaccine card to the patient portal following these instructions. If you have difficulty uploading your card or verifying that a prior upload was successful, you may simply email a copy of your card to vaccine@utulsa.edu.

Daily Wellness Check

In order to keep our campus safe and healthy, we ask all students and employees to monitor their health and stay home if they feel unwell. We recommend that all TU community members download our Daily Wellness Check app and complete a quick health assessment before leaving home each morning. To download the app, follow these instructions:

  1. Click here to view Microsoft Power Apps.
  2. Download Power Apps Mobile for your device type.
  3. Log into the app using your TUNetID@utulsa.edu credentials and select the Daily Wellness Check app.
  4. Turn on push notifications and TU will send you a friendly reminder to assess your health each morning.

Please download and complete this Daily Wellness Check each morning before leaving your residence.

Thank you for doing everything in your power to ensure our community remains healthy. I wish you success and happiness during the coming semester.

Sincerely,

Matt Warren
Vice President for Risk Management and Chief Compliance Officer
