Housing Agreement Details

Housing and Dining Agreement

Students who enter into an agreement with TU for housing and/or dining services agree to remain in residence and participate in a meal plan for the entire academic year. All rates are based on the dates published in these schedules, which may be amended from time to time according to the housing and dining agreement. Those approved to arrive earlier than or stay after published dates will be charged daily.

Please review the first- and second-year housing and dining requirement.

Cancellation Requests

All cancellation requests may be submitted through Self Service. Please be prepared to upload supporting documentation.

December Graduation – In order for the graduating resident to qualify for release at the end of the fall term without incurring liquidated damages, the resident must not be enrolled for the spring semester and must complete the cancellation request form through Self Service by November 1. Residents vacating under this provision must do so by 3:00 p.m. on the Sunday following the fall commencement date.

  • Housing Schedule for Residence Halls

    Academic 2023-2024 Term:

    Spring 2024 Only Term:

    • Opens Jan. 12, 2024 (9 a.m.)
    • Closes May 12, 2024 (3 p.m.) (All agreements end, new agreement required to continue)

    Summer 2024 Term:

    • Summer-Only Agreement Begins: May 19, 2024 (9 a.m.) for new-to-housing students.
    • Summer-Only Agreement Ends: August 10, 2024 (9 a.m.) for new-to-housing students.​​​​

    Academic 2024-2025 Term:

    Fall 2024:

    • Starts Aug. 19, 2024 (9 a.m.) – First-year students participating in StartTU Orientation
    • Starts Aug. 23, 2024 (9 a.m.) – All other students
    • Ends Dec. 20, 2024 (3 p.m.) if cancellation approved or agreement buy-out applied

    J-Term 2024 (Included in academic agreement. Billed at a daily rate with a Fall Only, Spring Only or J-Term Only agreement):

    • Starts Jan. 4, 2024 (9 a.m.)
    • Ends Jan. 18, 2024 (3 p.m.) (If cancellation approved or agreement buy-out applied)

    Spring 2025 Only Term:

    • Opens Jan. 17, 2025 (9 a.m.)
    • Closes May 18, 2025 (3 p.m.) (All agreements end, new agreement required to continue)

    All areas of campus housing remain open and available throughout entire housing agreement period.

  • Housing Schedule for Greek Housing Owned by the University

    Housing Schedule for Greek Housing Owned by the University (Sorority Row & Sigma Nu):

    Academic 2023-2024 Term:

    Ends May 12, 2024 (3 p.m.)

    • Fall 2023:
      Starts: TBD (based on Recruitment Schedule)
      Ends: Dec. 16, 2023 (3 p.m.) if cancellation approved or agreement buy-out applied.
    • J-Term 2024 (Included in Academic agreement. Billed at a daily rate with a Fall Only, Spring Only or J-Term Only agreement):
      Starts: Jan. 1, 2024 (9 a.m.)
      Ends: Jan. 13, 2024 (3 p.m.) (If cancellation approved or agreement buy-out applied)
    • Spring 2024 Only Term:
      Opens: Jan. 12, 2024 (9 a.m.)
      Closes: May 12, 2024 (3 p.m.) (All agreements end, new agreement required to continue)

    All areas of campus housing remain open and available throughout entire academic term, except when closed for fall, winter, and spring breaks by individual sorority corporation board (no proration for any closed dates).

    Academic 2024-2025 Term:

    Begins: TBD for Fall Work Week
    Ends May 18, 2025 (3 p.m.)

    • Fall 2024:
      Starts: TBD (based on Recruitment Schedule)
      Ends Dec. 20, 2024 (3 p.m.) if cancellation approved or agreement buy-out applied.

    Campus Apartments operate continuously throughout the year with a summer, fall and spring agreement. 

    • Spring 2024 Only Term:

    Summer-Only Agreement Begins: May 19, 2024 (9 a.m.) for new-to-housing students.

    *Students in storage that choose to return mid-summer, pay the daily rate to the start of the Fall term. Please ask someone in the housing office for your summer costs before splitting your summer between living and storage. Early move-in requests and extensions must be made electronically through the Housing/Dining Portal and are billed at the daily rate for the associated term. Early move-ins and extensions are granted based on the availability of the specific assigned unit.

  • Housing Schedule for Summer School Residence Hall

    Summer School 2024 Residence Hall – Lottie Jane Mabee Hall

    Summer 2024 Term:
    Summer-Only Agreement Begins: May 19, 2024 (9 a.m.) for new-to-housing students.
    Summer-Only Agreement Ends: August 10, 2024 (9 a.m.) for new-to-housing students.​​​​

    Current Residence Hall students that need housing after the Spring term ends have the option of moving directly to the Summer School residence hall as soon as their residence hall closes for the Spring. Campus Residence Hall housing is available year-round, and is always available to students with a current housing agreement. Summer school residence hall housing is billed for the entire summer up front, and would be prorated on a weekly basis after a mid-summer check-out.

    2023-24 Year

    Meal plan swipes and Dining Dollars will expire after dinner on Thursday, May 9, 2024. Meal trades will not be available during Fall Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. However, Dining Dollars and Hurricane Dollars remain accessible and usable during break periods.

    2024-25 Year

    Dining Dollars expire after dinner on Thursday, May 15, 2025
    Meal trades are not available during Fall Break, Winter Break and Spring Break. Dining Dollars and Hurricane Dollars are available and usable during break periods.
