Student Commitment

We, the students of The University of Tulsa, support the university’s virtues of wisdom, faith and service by affirming that:

We strive for excellence in the pursuit of wisdom by encouraging free and open inquiry which is fundamental to the pursuit of knowledge, preserving our academic integrity by maintaining the highest ethical standards in our studies, and valuing the relationships with our professors who provide a rich learning environment.

We acknowledge the university’s foundation on a faith in God and respect the faith traditions of all individuals.

We seek opportunities for service to benefit the university and the Tulsa community as an expression of appreciation toward those who facilitate and support our education and student community.

In all we do, we seek to strengthen our community by promising to stand against behaviors and actions that breach this pledge and de-mean others in the campus community – students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Through our contributions, we will endeavor to leave The University of Tulsa a better community than when we entered it.

Student Pledge

As a student of The University of Tulsa, I pledge to strive for excellence in the pursuit of wisdom, to acknowledge the University’s foundation on a faith in God while respecting the faith traditions of all individuals, and to be of service to others in accordance with the ideals set forth in the Student Commitment.

Official Means of Communication with Students

The University of Tulsa communicates a variety of information to students. Some of this information is time-sensitive relating to such things as, but not limited to, enrollment dates, deadlines for refunds, dropping courses and withdrawal from university or campus housing. Therefore, it is essential in those cases that the information is received by students in a timely manner. As a result, The University has designated certain addresses as the official means of communicating with students. These official addresses are the student’s university-issued email address, university-assigned campus address, and/or the student’s home address as listed in the university’s system.

The University will consider that it has communicated with a student as long as the communication has been sent to any one of these addresses. The communication specifically does not have to be sent to all three. Therefore, it is the student’s responsibility to assure that he or she has access to these official addresses, checks them regularly for any communications for the University and updates any changes in each of these three official addresses in a timely manner.
