TU Law on The Princeton Review’s Best Law Schools for 2023

The University of Tulsa is an outstanding law school, according to The Princeton Review list of Best Law Schools for 2023. In TU’s College of Law profile, The Princeton Review editors give it a rating score of 96 for professor accessibility and a career rating of 90, making TU a top 50 law school for fruitful employment opportunities upon graduation.

The profile also includes comments from TU Law students surveyed by The Princeton Review for this project. Students state that the school puts a lot of “focus on the professional development of the students and their bar passage” and that professors go “above and beyond to make every single student feel comfortable and encouraged.” Students went on to say the small class sizes (the student-to-teacher ratio is 9.5:1) lend to a “comfortable classroom atmosphere.”

“The University of Tulsa College of Law is honored to be featured on the Princeton Review’s Best Law School list for 2023,” said Dean Oren Griffin. “I am proud of the students and faculty who continually foster an atmosphere conducive to the ongoing success of our program.”

According to an analysis by Paul Caron in his popular TaxProf Blog, TU Law is tied for No. 63 among all U.S. law schools with an average score of 90.8, making it the highest ranked in the state of Oklahoma.

TU Law is tied for No. 39 in the nation for “Professor Accessibility” and No. 43 for “Career Rating,” which measures the confidence students have in their school’s ability to lead them to fruitful employment opportunities, as well as the school’s own record of having done so.

“Dean Caron’s evaluation verifies what we in Tulsa have long known: TU Law is one of the finest law schools in the region with excellent faculty and exceptional outcomes,” Griffin said. “Students who are seeking an outstanding value at a small, private law school need to look no further than TU Law.”

The Princeton Review editors weigh more than 60 data points in making their annual selections for their annual Best Law Schools lists. The selections for the 2023 list considered data from surveys the company conducted in 2021-22 of administrators at 168 law schools as well as surveys during the past three academic years of 17,000 students enrolled at the schools.
