Cindy Watts

Director of Veteran Affairs

Cindy Watts has worked at The University of Tulsa for over 35 years serving in different capacities such as CRT Operator, Assistant to the Registrar, Assistant Registrar and Veterans Coordinator. Also served as Associate Registrar and Coordinator of Veterans Affairs, Module Administrator for Curriculum and Faculty modules within the Colleague Database System. Cindy now currently serves as Director of Veteran Affairs.

The Director of Veteran Affairs is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the McKee Veterans Success Center and The University of Tulsa Student Veterans Association. The director coordinates and administers all Veteran Affairs activities and assists with the administration of federal and state grants and with other financial aid programs. Also, ensures compliance with all federal, state, and college regulations. She manages the McKee Veteran Success Center and provides advocacy and guidance to student veterans and serve as a resource to make referrals to key support services across the university community. Cindy also maintains accreditation with the Oklahoma State Accrediting Agency to ensure entitled students are able to continue utilizing educational funding through the Veterans Administration. Cindy oversees all aspects of educational funding through the Veterans Administration to ensure student veterans and military connected students receive all entitled benefits. As well, Cindy currently serves on the executive board for WAVES.

Will Rojas

Veterans Admission Counselor

Will is the Veterans Admission Counselor in the McKee Veterans Success Center at the University of Tulsa. He identifies and recruits this specific population that have the desired admission qualifications for university admission. He does recruitment outreach to regional community colleges and military bases and through Transfer and Education fairs. Will connects with various veteran networks in the region to expand the university branding and awareness of the university being a Yellow Ribbon University and ensures that TU has a positive community connectivity to the veteran services the area. William also works on the digital marketing campaign with Facebook and LinkedIn ads to ensure that prospective students are knowledgeable about the ability to use their GI Bill benefits at TU and about the school’s Yellow Ribbon Program.

Will has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cameron University and a Master’s degree in I/O Psychology from The University of Tulsa. He is a member of NACAC and CCME. William is a US Army veteran with 3 years active duty and 5 years reserve duty both as an enlisted soldier and officer. He was in the US Army Intelligence Corps and the US Army Chaplain Corps during his service and has served in the US as well as overseas.

Anita O'Daniel

Veteran and Military-Connected Student Success Coach

Anita is the Veteran and Military-Connected Student Success Coach in the McKee Veterans Success Center at The University of Tulsa. She works directly with students to assist them on their student and career journeys. Anita directly connects with company representatives to be able to adequately assist students who are looking to intern, shadow, or apply to specific companies. As well, throughout the year, Anita sets up programming from Lunch and Learns and post-Career Fair events to informal interactions during tailgating during football season. She is, also, very invested in students who have ‘dis/abilities,’ serving as a member of the Campus Access Committee (co-chairing and being a member of 2 subcommittees).

Anita is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education Studies from The University of Tulsa in 2018. Before which, she served in the Air Force in Virginia.
