Interim Chief

Joe Canova is an experienced security professional with over 15 years of experience in security operations and management. He has led and managed global security teams in the U.S., India, China and Taiwan, ensuring effective and consistent security operations across diverse environments. Canova has a strong background in training and development, focused on building skilled and reliable security teams. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with his family.

Captain Lynn Williams

Captain - Gilcrease Division

Lynn Williams began her security career at Gilcrease Museum in January 1998 as a security officer. She has been with UTulsa since June 2009, stepping into her current role as captain in January 2020. Williams and her team ensure the safety of the visitors, staff and the collection at Gilcrease Museum and the Helmerich Center for American Research. She has a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Conservation from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and her hobbies include fishing, hiking and bowling.

Lt. Stephen Lambert

Training Patrol Lieutenant

Stephen Lambert has over 15 years of experience in security management including the areas of retail, transportation and university security. He is currently the training officer for the Campus Safety and Security Department and is also a range master, armorer and firearms instructor. Lambery has served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for 12 years and the Oklahoma National Guard for eight years. He is the longest-serving patrol officer at The University of Tulsa with over 12 years of experience.

Lt. Paul Devers

Patrol Lieutenant

Paul Devers has seven years of experience in security and law enforcement. He served as a reserve police officer for the Pryor Police Department for two years and as a full-time police officer for the Chouteau Police Department for two years. He has been a security officer at UTulsa for three years. Devers is UTulsa Security’s firearms instructor as well as Glock armorer. He has a bachelor’s in multidisciplinary studies from Rogers State University.

Lt. William Cumming

Patrol Lieutenant

William Cumming has been with The University of Tulsa since 2024 and currently serves as the patrol lieutenant for the evening shift.

Cumming honorably served his country with the United States Army Corps of Engineers for six years. He graduated the Army NCO Academy on the commandants list. He is certified to teach CPR, first aid and AED training through the American Red Cross and is trained in tactical medicine and mental health first aid.

He is currently pursuing a degree in nursing with an emphasis on psychology, and enjoys fishing, art and running 5k benefits in his free time.

Lt. Greg Golden

Patrol Lieutenant

Gregory Golden has more than seven years of leadership experience in security, loss prevention and corporate district-level investigations. He has been with The University of Tulsa Security for three years.

Throughout his career, Golden has been mentored by several officers from the Tulsa Police Department. He serves as UTulsa Security’s GRACIE Jiu-Jitsu instructor.

He holds an associate degree in information assurance and forensics from Oklahoma State University and is currently pursuing an engineering degree at The University of Tulsa.

Dru McClellan

Administrative Assistant

Dru McClellan is the switchboard operator for the university and provides administrative and department assistance within the UTulsa Security Department. McClellan has worked for the university since 2016 and her family has been part of the UTulsa family since 1982. Reign ‘Cain!
